Student Projects

On Friday, May 30, 2014 John Rennie student, Dipesh Patel, demonstrated a 500 CD domino illustrating the initials of the Lester B. Pearson School Board (LBPSB).

John Rennie leadership students who helped Dipesh create his CD domino, were Jacob Senecal, Matthew McKirdy, Andrew Fraser-Anzovino, Raphael Machado-Gedeon, Gregory Inose and David Rochette

As part of the May 30th, 2014 CD Domino event at John Rennie, other resource students participated by making and presenting a banner showing the letters L.B.P.S.B. Also, Stephanie Paetzold and Angus Mitchell, gave a power point presentation, before the dominos fell, on the life of Lester B. Pearson.

Pearson started out like many of us, going to school and playing sports. Like many of his era, he then served in the military during the First World War.

After further study, he became a lecturer in history at the University of Toronto. Then later he was Minister of External Affairs, and a diplomat as Ambassador to the United States. He was President of the United Nations General Assembly in the early 1950’s.

For his pursuit of global peace, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1957. After being elected as the leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, he became Prime Minister from 1963-1968.

Lester B. Pearson died in 1972, and is buried in Wakefield, Quebec, north of Ottawa.
